Jeopardy!

AMERICA ON STAMPS // THAT’S “AA”WESOME // GEOLOGY // AN ASIAN CAPITAL IDEA // THEY MAKE THAT // THE OSCAR & RAZZIE WINNER

DD1 – $600 – GEOLOGY – An attraction at Carlsbad Caverns is one of these long formations known as the Sword of Damocles (Micah dropped $1,600 on a true DD.)

Scores at first break: Jay $3,200, Micah $600, Meredith -$800.

Scores entering DJ: Jay $3,400, Micah $2,400, Meredith $1,200.

Double Jeopardy!

SOME HATS, SOME CATTLE // POP CULTURE GRAB BAG // HISTORY // WORLD HERITAGE SITES // IN THE BOOKSTORE // NUDE, TO THE OED

DD2 – $800 – HISTORY – In 1899 in his mid-20s, Winston Churchill was captured & imprisoned during this war, escaping a short time later (Micah improved by $1,000 to $3,800 and took the lead.)

DD3 – $1,600 – WORLD HERITAGE SITES – The great spa towns of Europe encompass 11 towns in 7 countries, including this French one of World War II infamy (Micah dropped $3,400 from his score of $10,600 vs. $3,400 for Jay.)

Micah had his quick start in DJ stalled by a miss on DD3, but his opponents couldn’t mount a strong rally, so it was wide open into FJ with Micah at $8,000, Jay with $6,600 and Meredith at $6,000.

Final Jeopardy!

SHOW BIZ MARRIAGES – Married since 1977, the year of this band’s 1st album, 2 members referenced another album with their 2023 “Remain In Love” tour

Only Jay was correct on FJ, adding $5,401 to win with $12,001 for a three-day total of $28,200.

Final scores: Jay $12,001, Micah $2,799, Meredith $1,500.

Triple Stumper of the day: No one knew the “Stephen King novel about a world blasted by plague” is “The Stand.”.

Judging the writers: IMO it would have been more fair to the contestants for the category to have been CLASSIC ROCK MARRIAGES, because without a solid knowledge of that genre, you had no chance at this one.

Correct Qs: DD1 – What is a stalactite? DD2 – What is the Boer War? DD3 – What is Vichy? FJ – Who are Talking Heads?
