Welcome back to the History Thread! I picked up a big haul of books over the weekend, including John Ferling’s Almost a Miracle, Dennis Mack Smith’s biography of Mussolini, Eric D. Weitz’s Weimar Germany: Promise and Tragedy and Mark Whittaker’s Civil Rights history Saying It Loud. I haven’t had much chance to dive deep into these yet, but it should at least give me some reading before my next semi-historical vacation later this summer. Thanks for dropping by and please feel free to discuss anything that comes to mind – books or articles you’ve read, documentaries you’ve watched, research you’ve conducted, or just things that have been on your mind about the past, and how it connects to and informs the present.
