Welcome to the 30 day challenge of June, where we’ll be taking a trip to Hyrule as we discuss one of the most beloved gaming franchises of all time: The Legend Of Zelda.
We’ve talked characters, so now its time to talk about what these characters Do. Storytelling has arguably never been the main draw of Zelda, but the series has still gradually acquired more of it, and people have spent considerable time trying to suss out an in-universe chronology for the series. So for today, what are the best and worst stories told in the Zelda series? Any stand-out scenes? Does the wider lore do anything for you, and have you partaken in the theorizin’ game?
Bonus prompt: Any elements from the Zelda world/history do you wish would get more elaborated on?
Extra Bonus prompt: Conversely, should the series even bother with any sort of wider lore/timeline at all, and just be more freewheeling and standalone?
Child Timeline Prompt: Do you think Zelda storytelling could be more ambitious, or would you rather they bother with as little as possible?
