DD3 – $1,600 – 2020s POLITICS – Quite the center of attention in 2022, in the ’60s this senator played QB for West Virginia & assistant coach Bobby Bowden (Grant dropped $4,000 to $9,200 vs. $12,000 for Will.)

Grant and Will were dead even with the entire row of $400 clues remaining. Grant got three, Will got two, then time ran out, so it was Grant leading into FJ at $13,200 vs. Will at $12,800 and Kathy at $6,600.

19th CENTURY LITERARY CHARACTERS – John Elwes, a millionaire member of parliament who would go to bed before dusk to save on candles, inspired this character

Everyone was correct on this extremely easy FJ clue. Grant added $12,401 to win with $25,601.

Final scores: Will $13,201, Kathy $13,199, Grant $25,601.

Judging the judges: IMO they should have accepted just “Lucy” for the game-deciding $400 clue, as she was widely referred to by just that single name. Also note that Lucy’s daughter is performer Lucie Arnaz, the name that Grant gave.
