The war that raged for the Throne of Hell has reached its explosive finale and a new ruler sits upon it. Who is it and what plans do they have for Hell, Earth, and Heaven?

I started to gain a renewed interest in Spawn around Issue #295 in time for the big 300th issue. I was too young to see other series hit this big milestone so I figured I would jump on the anniversary train with Spawn. Then the pandemic happened. I sought the issues after it via online comic stores and Amazon Marketplaces. I had time on my hands so I decided to keep up with the series the best I could. I was so glad when I discovered single issues of Spawn were available on Hoopla. I read Issue #350 on a Tuesday afternoon (March 5th to be exact) and I was absolutely blown away by the conclusion of this storyline.

Spawn, Sinn, and Clown are all vying for the Throne of Hell. Each has a reason for it – Spawn wants to be able to control what happens in Hell and how it affects other realms. Sinn and Clown were both deemed undeserving of it and are trying to prove their worth. I won’t reveal the winner of this battle but I will tease that it will affect Spawn for a long time to come. There will be lasting ramifications for Spawn and others and I’m excited to see if they are temporary or permanent and if they can be resolved or not.

Todd McFarlane has built up Spawn’s Universe in the past few years, by placing his trust in the right artists and writers to continue what he started back in the early 90s. Love him or hate him, you have to give the man credit for Spawn’s longevity and profitability.

When I was getting caught up with these last few issues of Spawn, I was thinking about making a conscious effort to rewatch the movie and HBO cartoon series in the near future. I was a little young to understand and grasp both and I’d like to revisit them to see if they are as bad or good as everyone said they were back in the day.

I’d like to offer my congratulations to Todd and his stable of artists and writers that continue to add wrinkles and layers to Spawn’s mythology. Issue #400 is in sight. I can’t wait to see what happens over the course of the next fifty issues. Could it be the end of Spawn by that milestone issue? I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Spawn #350 is available instantly on Hoopla if you’d like to read it. The fallout of the War in Hell will continue monthly in Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn, King Spawn, and The Scorched
