Hello everyone! Ixolite here, trying to grab the reins of this column after Blue Adepts incredibly impressive stint at managing it for the past near 4 years. As such, the smart thing to do in my position would be to lean into populism and choose an audience favorite topic but…screw it, If I’m hosting this I’m gonna play my heartsong, WE’RE DOING A MONTH OF PLATFORMER PROMPTS BAYBEEEE! Don’t worry theres’ RPG and Zelda months coming down the pike in terms of videogame challenges, but for march, it’s gonna be all about jumping on things and collecting things and stuff.

To start with, lets go back to the very beginning and ask: What was your first platforming experience? Was it a 2D Mario game, trusty Megaman, the 3D boom of the PSX/N64 era, or even just plummeting to your death at a devious platforming section in a mostly non-platforming game?

Bonus: What game would you use to introduce someone to the platforming genre -whether 2D or 3D?
