sort of related to last week’s topic of supplemental material, how much backstory do you have, either in your head or written down? Is your story the conclusion of a long saga? Do the characters have a history that you aren’t bothering to spell out but nonetheless informs all their interactions? do you have pages of biography on even the most minor characters?

Or is all of that kind of vaguely in your head somewhere?
