This week finally sees the release of Dune 2: Dune It Again. This is the sequel to the first movie, which got book fans going, “They got it right.”

Gone are the days of fans pining, “If only Alejandro Jodorowsky had gotten his hands on this movie. We were denied the greatest movie ever where Salvador Dali played the Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV.”

No more are the fans going, “This franchise personally wronged David Lynch. Imagine what this movie would be if they let David Lynch be truly weird. Instead we got lifeless, corporately mandated scenes like Sting in winged underpants and the Harkonnens milking a cat for some reason.”

Indeed, everyone got the Dune they were waiting for. Tons of sand! Big worms! Feyd Rautha looking like a rock and roll vampire! And so on. It is finally the version of Dune that nerds can hold up high and say, “It’s got Zendaya in it. That means Dune is cool now, right?”

Meanwhile, those David Lynch sandworms had to take a second job in Tremors or something.

Today’s bonus prompt: what failed movie would you like to see a remake of?
