The 1980’s: the decade of the action star. It was an era of big guns, bigger muscles, ninja assassins, sword-wielding barbarians, and ultra-violent films beloved by children. So I thought, lets have a tournament to decide the best action movie of the decade.

Nominees can be from any country of origin, they can be live-action or animated, and I’m not going to be too picky about what counts as an action movie – I don’t personally think of The Princess Bride or the Rocky movies as part of the action genre, but I won’t argue with anyone who feels otherwise.

To nominate a movie, simply post it below (please, one nomination per post). If you want to see a film make it to the tournament, give it the ol’ upvote (downvotes do nothing). Not sure how many brackets the tournament will have – depends how many nominees we get.
