Pitchers and catchers report for most if all MLB teams by today. Baseball season is coming soon. And yet the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner still doesn’t have a job. Many pundits have noted that you never, ever see this sort of thing in other sports. The Lords of Baseball, no matter how much they might try to restore the sport’s lost glory, just keep tripping over themselves in their greed. Well, maybe not the Dodgers.

Meanwhile, the NBA All Star break is almost here, NHL trade deadline inches closer, EPL is nearing its climax, and the Men’s World Cup final will be in NYC! (OK, the game itself will be in New Jersey, but FIFA clearly chose a mediocre stadium with awful transit issues so they could spend Saturday going to The Lion King and eating at Peter Luger Steakhouse.)
