Those of you who’d like to post future Creative Endeavors Threads post your request in the comments below. Hey, Kevzero here, I’m an amateur photographer based on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. I mostly take wildlife photos, but have been recently taking pictures of many other things. This week: Red-breasted Mergansers. A common sight in the cold Winter waters around Cape Cod is the Red-breasted Merganser. As with most migratory ducks, these water fowl hang around the area to find food and breed. Despite their name, only males in breeding plumage have a red breast. The most distinguishing feature is the crest of feathers on their head, giving an appearance of spiky “hair”. Here are some pictures of these distinctive ducks.
