Hi! It’s Friday again? How exciting!

Today’s Artist is Harpist and Singer Ahya Simone! After cutting her teeth on Classical Music at Wayne State University Simone wanted to mix it up and started covering R&B and Soul Music as well. Her music career really blew up in 2018 when she scored Dream Hampton’s short film Treasure, nabbed a Kresge Artist Fellowship (first Black Trans Woman to do so.)

In addition to her music career she also created and stars in the web comedy Series Femme Queen Chronicles about Four Black Trans Women in Detroit.
