This second chapter in the H series will look at things that fuse the letter H and the number 2, starting with the second-level HTML heading element,
. In many cases, it will be the highest level of text on a page that specifically mentions us by name, e.g.

Next up, we have the Hummer H2. It debuted with model year 2003 and is a vehicle that people probably have strong opinions on, as one might argue that it leaned harder into ‘lifestyle SUV’ than anything else has. Though heavily inspired by the original Hummer — or “H1” by backwards implication — civilian version of the military Humvee, the H2 was actually based on a Suburban platform. It was produced through 2009.

We can’t talk about H2 without talking about H20, aka water. We drink it, freeze it, ski on it and use it to fight fire, among many other things. The U.S. Geological Survey even has a cool Water Science School website just for learning about it. Here’s a neat graphic of theirs:

Finally, some music for this evening. While there are prominent groups who would be on theme as H-duos, such as Hall & Oates or Heart (given the marketing focus primarily on Ann and Nancy Wilson), I found that there are several bands whose names are some variation on “H20″ including a Scottish group who had a 1983 hit with the song below. I had never heard this, and it has an interesting sound:

Have a good Saturday night!
