30 Day Video Game Challenge Day 11: Your Coping Gaming

While we tend to have our big emotionally driven moments in our lives during our teenage years when hormones are all over the map, these incidents can recur anytime in life. And one of the things that people reach for during that for some comfort is a videogame. Something that’s familiar, that they’ve either mastered or know how to work their way through, which helps to separate their mind from the current events roiling whatever it is in reality that’s bringing them down. Sometimes it’s a game of brightness and sunshine, sometimes it’s something that lets you work through the darkness while being in the darkness. What’s your game that you pull out from the library when in need like this?

During times like this for myself, I invariably find a game like Call of Duty to draw on where I can easily play for hours if needed or just get a couple of rounds in for a “hit” of what I need to distract and pull myself back together. Suffice to say, there have been times in my adult life where I got pretty good for awhile at some of these.
