This week I’ll be bringing attention to an incredibly LGBTQ+ creator friendly comic publication in an industry leans towards having cis hets telling our stories.

The Nib has been around since 2013, founded by Matt Bors. Despite being a cis het, he constantly uses the platform to allow LGBTQ+ folk to write and draw on the site. There are the regulars like the Matt Lubchansky, Kendra Wells, and Joey Allison Sayers. The humor pieces…… tend to be hit or miss at best. But The Nib does more than publish meme fodder. They also do essay styled pieces that range from good to amazing, with plenty involving modern LGBTQ+ issues, such as Sage Coffey’s It’s Time to Put More Trans People in Power, Kazimir Lee’s The Homeless LGBT Youth of NYC Are in Trouble and even a more personal piece by four cartoonist on found family . But they also go over historical figures often left out of schools, such as Gad Beck, James Barry and Josephine Baker

The Nib has a collection of LGBTQ+ cartoons coming out later this year with over 30 creators, so if you looking for some LGBTQ+ content made by LGBTQ+ people, check it out.
