The Unheard Weekly Music Thread

Let’s discuss any and all music here. Got a new artist who’s rocking your boat that you want to talk about? Post a video! Found out about that unearthed Coltrane album that has the jazz freak in you losing your mind? Lay it out for us! Have a theory about what your favorite band might do for their next album? Let’s hear it! Anything and everything music-related goes here.

This week’s discussion prompt: What music-related stuff do you own but have yet to consume?

Do you have a tower of records, a stack of CDs, a pile of DVDs, a heap of books, or a mountain of magazines ready to listen to, watch or read but just haven’t gotten around to them yet? Or is there a specific album that you picked up ages ago that you just haven’t been in the mood for? Let us know!

For those among you who eschew physical media all together: Feel free to join in and let us know if there are any albums you’ve downloaded but have yet to hear, or what has sitting in your “Play Later” or “Watch Later” lists for longer than you care to remember!

And for those of you who are avid collectors of records, CDs, tapes, DVDs, videos, or any other type of physical media (and therefore may have more in your various piles can could possibly be contained in a single Disqus post): If you still want to participate maybe just share a few titles that have been on deck for a very long time.

By the way, if this week’s topic seems overly familiar, it was inspired by a discussion I posted at the old site back in 2016 or so (though at that time I left it open to other areas of pop culture outside of music as well).

stack records
Do NOT stack your records like this. Seriously. If you do this you are probably some kind of fucking monster (or at the very least put yourself at risk of incurring the wrath of some nerd somewhere).
As always, any and all music-related topics are welcome. Have fun, and rock out with yr guac out!
