All three DDs were missed and it came down to the last clue of DJ, which Josh solved to lead into FJ at $8,000 vs. $7,300 for Jamie and $5,400 for Danyelle.

DD2, $1,200 – WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE – Beneath the Ponte Sant’Angelo, commissioned by Hadrian (Jamie lost $1,200 from her total of $8,500 vs. $7,800 for Josh.)

DD3, $1,200 – WALKING – In 1974 Dave Kunst became the first person verified to have done this (minus water) — a distance of 14,450 miles (Josh lost $3,000 from his score of $10,600 vs. $5,200 for Jamie.)

FJ – 20TH CENTURY EUROPEAN LEADERS – In a 1930s broadcast, this man spoke of “a quarrel in a faraway country between people of whom we know nothing”

Only Josh was correct on FJ, adding $6,601 to win with $14,601.

Triple Stumper of the day: The players didn’t guess the river that runs under the Mark Twain Memorial Bridge is the Mississippi.

That’s before our time: No one could name 1970s Alabama Governor and presidential candidate George Wallace.

Clue selection strategy: With the round one Daily Double still in play and the only clues that remained being in an untouched category, the players still went top-down instead of shopping in the higher-value clues.
