Group 6 Results:
Are not final yet. I noticed that Group 6 got significantly fewer votes than any previous group; its current 1st place song wouldn’t make the top 8 in several previous groups. I suspect this might be because 6 spanned Saturday and Sunday, missing the weekday-only crowd. So, I’m making an executive decision and extending 6’s window until 10:00 pm tonight. I’ll also be doing this for group 13 once we get to it. This way, every group gets at least one weekday. So, if you haven’t yet, please go here and vote in group 6.
Now we get to the eliminations. We have 616(!) songs in this tournament; they have been broken up into 19 groups of either 32 or 33. For the group stage, vote for as many songs as you like! The top 8 songs of each group will automatically advance to the knockout rounds. Additionally, the top 104 songs across all groups outside the top 8 will advance as “wild cards”. [footnote]For you non-sports fans, wild cards aren’t treated any differently than group winners, the term only refers to how the song qualified[/footnote]
We’ll be “feathering” groups; voting on group 8 will be active until Tuesday January 21th at 10:00PM Pacific. Groups 6 and 7 are still active until 10:00 pm tonight; vote here and here. Group 9 will start Tuesday and be active until Wednesday, and so on. Please listen to every song! Don’t just vote name recognition.
