Jeopardy! recap for Tue., Dec. 10

Here are today’s contestants:

– Shane, a strategy consultant from New York, is employing his wife’s game show wealth building plan;
– Ben, a cardiologist from Illinois, knows about matters of the heart; and
– Jennifer, a wine-tasting consultant from Michigan, takes cupcakes seriously. Jennifer is a four-day champ with winnings of $123,300.

Despite not finding either of the DDs in DJ, Jennifer held a safe margin throughout and couldn’t be caught in FJ with $25,200 vs. $10,400 for Shane and $9,800 for Ben.

DD1, $1,000 – AMERICAN HISTORY – Real name Mary, this “maternal” organizer of mine workers in the early 20th century was called “the most dangerous woman in America” (Jennifer won $1,000 from her score of $1,200.)

DD2, $800 – OCCUPATIONALLY NAMED AUTHORS – Mrs. Tittlemouse, Tom Kitten & many other animal characters were created by this “artisan” (Shane won $4,000 from his total of $4,800 vs. 12,400 for Jennifer.)

DD3, $1,600 – AWARDS & HONORS – Defenders of human rights, like Nelson Mandela & Colin Kaepernick, have won this organization’s Ambassador of Conscience award (Ben lost $6,000 from his score of $10,200 vs. $18,000 for Jennifer.)

FJ – OSCAR-WINNING FILMS – The first words spoken in this 1970 Best Picture Oscar winner are “Ten-hut!” “Be seated”.

Jennifer and Ben were correct on an FJ that should have been a breeze for anyone who did basic preparation on the category. Jennifer added $1,000 to win with $26,200 for a five-day total of $149,500.

Vastly overpriced clue: $2,000 for knowing the city associated with Joshua and walls falling down is Jericho.

This day in Trebekistan: Alex was perplexed as to why Jennifer only bet $1,000 on FJ and vowed to ask her about it on tomorrow’s show. I hope he does, because frankly I don’t get it either.

Correct Qs:
DD1 – Who was Mother Jones?
DD2 – Who was Potter?
DD3 – What is Amnesty International?
FJ – What is “Patton”?
