Last week was power tools, this week what’s your favorite hand powered tool? Anthony Bourdain (RIP, sniff) has said a sturdy chef’s knife is the single most indispensable tool in a kitchen and I have to agree. I definitely keep mine sharp and family members will attest to me getting overly agitated if someone doesn’t clean it immediately after using it. I still sometimes use an old-school egg beater,
it is a lot less fussy than getting an electric hand beater out and dealing with cords and attachments. So ubiquitous I rarely even think about it is the humble can opener. I don’t think I’ve ever owned an electric one.
Share your faves, next week a U.S. Thanksgiving wrap up.
