Hey, all; Happy Friday –

 

At my job, the median age of our employees is mid-30’s at most. Despite this, according to our stats, we have the largest single call-out and tardiness rate in the entire company. It’s driven out manager to distraction and, frankly, makes us all look (justifiably) like a bunch of assholes. As one might expect, new rules on tardiness and sick time have come down from on-high and we’ll be expected to follow them or face harsh penalties.

…That being said, in our recent…animated discussion on the topic I tried to explain to my boss that, for the office as a whole, few punishments could compare to most days of us actually having to be here and actually doing the job. All the same, I can’t fault him. We’ve both been around the same block these many years, and I give him maximum credit for actually trying, bless him.
