It’s is all tied up at one game apiece, after a commanding 99-87 Sun victory in Game 2. The series now moves to Connecticut for the next two games. Game 2 was nothing short of a disaster for the Washington Mystics; losing MVP Elena Delle Donne three minutes into the game with a back injury. In her absence, the Connecticut Sun took full advantage dominating all aspects of the game; led by an amazing performance by their own star Jonquel Jones. Her 32 points and 18 rebounds ranks as one of the best performances in WNBA Finals history. The Mystics were led by Emma Meesseman’s 22 points coming off the bench
An MRI showed that Elena Delle Donne suffered a herniated disc in her back, and she is questionable for Game 3. If she does play, it remains to be seen what impact she will have ,and if she doesn’t, can the rest of Washington step up in her absence. The Connecticut Sun are poised to take control of the series, and a big win today could shatter any hope the Mystics are holding on to
