The Creative Endeavors Thread Really Needs To “Apply Itself”

This is the space for our members to discuss and share their creative projects, ranging from written works to drawings, photography, and even craft projects such as knitting and woodworking. Self promotion is welcome (websites where we can view and/or purchase your work). Please do continue to preface if content is NSFW and be sure to properly spoiler/link such content. Those of you who’d like to post future Creative Endeavors Threads, please be sure to check out the Sign-Up Sheets and act accordingly.

I’ve had the last two days off, which you might think would be an ideal time to lose myself in a creative whirl. Instead, I took a couple of long walks and bike rides, caught up with a friend for drinks, and spent several hours reading Drew Magary’s Why Your Team Sucks posts on Deadspin. In my defense, it was raining for the latter, but that’s obviously less than no excuse. On the other hand, as I mentioned in the OT, reading the disgruntled fan comments was almost like an updated version of John Gunther’s Inside USA and there were even references here and there to mothership legend ZODIAC MOTHERFUCKER (it also struck me that I might actually get a couple of sports questions right now for the next Learned League season starting tomorrow).

So today’s header is Matlock Tor (c. 1778-80), by Joseph Wright of Derby (1734-97), a favorite at the Detroit Institute of Arts. I like to imagine that’s what the sky looked like last night, but I wouldn’t know, given that I was still slothfully inside, lulling myself to sleep with hilarious anti-Belichick invective (among other things) and thanking fuck that I wasn’t more invested in this stuff.

Show us your work (like I’m one to talk)!
