Between wild weekends and suddenly annoying upstairs neighbors, I haven’t been getting a lot of sleep recently, and inspiration deserts for this week’s thread, for which I apologize. So I’ll just post a few pictures I’ve taken in the past as I’m thinking of upgrading my camera for the first time in seven years. These are all in or around the Huron River in Ann Arbor, Michigan (and points west).

Fall colors in the autumn of 2010, shortly before the subsidiary pond created by the Argo Dam was converted to the environmentally controversial “Argo Cascades.”

Haunting heron in the summer of 2011, upstream from Argo Dam; great blues are still my favorite large bird and still pretty strong in number and presence despite pressures.

Early morning mist at Broadway Park overlooking the river sometime in 2013.

Late afternoon sun heading towards Dexter at the Burns-Stokes Preserve in Scio Township; November 2016, the weekend before the election.

We’re in the weird slow patch in town after all the summer festivals and before school starts again; hoping to clear the decks for a lot of production this autumn and winter.
