This whole “be busy on weekends, don’t follow politics/news very much” is nice in the moment but it makes it difficult to write up early week Politics Thread posts. But, we do our best. Here’s what’s crackin’:

Boris Johnson is gonna be the UK Prime Minister, which uhhhhh seems bad. Sorry, UK friends. Our two leaders are bumbling potentially dangerous idiots.

Everybody has decided to talk about Al Franken again for reasons I must have missed. I guess somehow there’s more to say than “he was a pretty good Senator, but he fucked it all up in the past, and so he had to go.” Such a TRAGEDY has never befallen a politician before, nobody knows the trouble I seen, etc etc.

One thing from the Trump vs THE SKWAD that tickled me was the story about how Melania and Ivanka gave ol’ Donald a stern talkin’-to about the whole “go back where you came from” business, and he immediately responded with “nah, never happened.” A story that they obviously planted, and Trump throws even his own family, whom he claims to love, under the bus. Just marvelous.
