Here it is.

 

The utterly unsurprising finalist on one side is U2.  I will editorialize:  They should be here.  The produced one (and maybe two) of the greatest albums of all time with Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby.  They became cliché because they were so huge.

The other finalist is Bob Marley and the Wailers.  A life cut short and a political message that wasn’t nearly as on-the-nose as U2’s, Bob Marley might be a mirror to U2.  When I was growing up and college aged, they attracted the same cohort: both appealed to the politically minded, but U2 went for a less subtle-minded audience, and Bob Marley for the more mellow.

Either way, both ended up on Island Records.  Interesting, that.
