With Toy Story 4 now playing in theaters and making us all cry like babies, it feels like a good time to do this. I’ve never done a character tournament before, but I’ve been wanting to do this one for a while, but figured it would be best to wait until after the big Pixar film of the summer opened.

So on we go to Round 2. We lost MANY popular characters in the last round, which ended up being a G-rated bloodbath. And it’s only going to get worse from here. But first, let’s all remove our caps for…

Other fun stuff…

* MO barely lost to Kari the Babysitter. Only one vote made the difference between victory and defeat.

* I had expected for Riley to last more than one round, as I think she’s by far Pixar’s best kid character, very appealing and easy for the audience to connect with.

* RIP Ellie Fredericksen. Again.

* We lost almost all of our Ratatouille characters in one round, Only Alfredo Linguini survived.

* Toy Story characters fared very well overall, though I credit Toy Story 4 for giving Bo Peep the edge over Doc Hudson (the only Cars vehicle to make it to the first round).

* Syndrome also didn’t make it past Round One, despite his popularity. Neither did his eventual turncoat assistant Mirage, who I guess is in prison or wherever it was she was allowed to go at the end of the first movie. Amazingly, the raccoon from Incredible 2 is here for Round Two.

* Most of the character showdowns were chosen at random, but I couldn’t resist having a “battle of the bears” with Queen Elinor and Lotso Huggin’ Bear. In the end, Lotso emerged victorious.

* Dug is probably the biggest upset of Round One. Sorry, Dug.
