Hey, all; Happy Fri-i-i-i-God am I tired.
Why is that, Big Wheel? I hear you asking, Has it been a tough week? Have the stresses of your job kept you from sleeping? And I would say: Nope! Or at least, no more than usual. Indeed, I would say, it’s quite the opposite.
For the past two days, I’ve been completely mainlining the new game release: Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. (available now for XBox, PS4, and PC. In short: It’s game whose style I have always adored, one that I happily backed on Kickstarter, and one that I and many other have been waiting for with baited breath for almost four years. Now that it’s out, I’m happy to say that it’s been money well-spent; the controls are tight, the mechanics are fun, the visuals are stunning. Truly, it’s everything that was promised to us during the initial campaign, and more.
And it’s killing me.
You see, I don’t know about you all but, between my hour commute, my around nine hours in the office, and the fact that much of my job involves meeting with and helping others. I’m sort of expected to an attentive, well-spoken, and presentable representative of my organization; and that just can’t happen when you;re operating on about 4 hours sleep because you just had to spend just a few more minutes (read: 120) killing demons to see if they would drop that cool thing you read about.
Because of this, I often try not to engage with anything during the week that I’m not immediately able to disengage from when it comes to my mid-30’s bedtime. Gone are the days when one would be able walk (or, if I’m being honest with myself, stagger) out of Thursday night pub quiz to hit the pillow for 5 hours and get up for 7:30 AM. Hell. it’s gotten to the point where, some nights I’m not even mixing myself a small drink when I get home, just be be on the safe side.
Before this degenerates too much into an old man rant, I’ll turn the reins over to you all. I suppose it goes without saying that this is the sub-topic for this week. Are you all like boring old me, rationing fun so as to better be fresh for you daily grind, or, are you able to better balance your uptime and downtime, keeping your batteries charged and not coming in to the weekend on a wing and prayer?
As ever, have a safe and productive rest of the day, safe trip home, and a great weekend, and remember:

Have all your demonic hellspawn spayed and neutered.
