Sports Corner – June 19, 2019

And so the NBA and NHL seasons end, and the Raptors and Blues can enjoy a few weeks of quiet time before we start thinking about next season.

Did I say weeks?  I meant seconds, since the insanely busy “off-season” started immediately.  I wish that other sports followed the NFL’s lead and mandated a break between the end of the playoffs and the official beginning of new league business.  It’s exhausting, if also exciting.  And it feels just a little unfair to Kawhi that we don’t let him enjoy the title without constantly asking “where are you playing next year?”

But on we go, towards free agency, through the trades, and into the draft.  I offer, apropos of the draft, two interesting articles:
