Today would have been the 92nd birthday of noted Italian director Lucio Fulci. He made movies in a variety of genres but he’s most known for his giallo movies. I’m focusing on what’s widely considered his best movie, 1981’s The Beyond.

(genuinely the tamest poster I could find for it)
The Beyond tells the story of Liza Merrill (played by Catriona MacColl), a New Yorker who inherits a hotel in New Orleans. Unbeknownst to her, the hotel was host to a grizzly ritual in 1927 that opened on of the Seven Doors of Death on its premises. Creepy shit ensues.

The Beyond isn’t universally liked (Roger Ebert, notably, gave it a scathing review) but those that do like it tend to love it (such as myself). It’s kind of lacking in the story department but it more than makes up for it in terms of atmosphere and it has one of the creepiest scenes of the ’80s.
(warning: scene is super gory and the picture quality is shit)
Hope you all have fun posting here tonight and have a great night.
