In 1998 a human girl named Liz fell in love with an alien boy named Max in the novel The Outsider. It would be the first of Melinda Metz’s 10 Roswell High novels. In 1999 they would meet again on the television series Roswell which ran for two seasons on the WB and one on UPN.
TV Tropes describes Roswell thusly:
The series was a combination of a Science Fiction/Monster of the Week show and a romantic Teen Drama. Many audience members felt that the show never quite got the balance right.
In January 2019 the CW rebooted the series, aging up the characters and making Liz the daughter of undocumented immigrants.
The show received mixed reviews. Some fans watched for the alien battles, some for the political allegories and others for the angsty romantic relationships. Tonight the season finale aired. A renewal is not confirmed so this may also end up being the series finale.
Did you watch? Were you satisfied? Do you want more? How do you compare this to the recent season finale of The Magicians?
