The Star Wars Celebration is coming, a new title will soon be announced, and the Star Wars brand is at a weird place right now.

The past two years have seen a decline in the toy sales, and Solo “only” made $212 million domestically and put the Anthology films on ice for the time being.  The supposedly mixed reaction to The Last Jedi confused and infuriated people on both sides of the debate, and I imagine Kelly Marie Tran and Daisy Ridley are beginning to wonder why they got involved with this horseshit in the first place.

But…Disney is ALSO launching a new theme park based on Star Wars, and The Mandalorian is going to be the flagship series for their new streaming service.  Star Wars is still a cultural juggernaut, but it will be interesting to see what happens next after episode IX hits screens this Christmas.
