Tonight’s Night Thread is dedicated to the “Eighth Wonder of the World” Andre the Giant.

One of the greatest pro wrestling main events of all time took place at Wrestlemania III at the Pontiac Silverdome.

Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant

Heck, every match on this card is a fan favorite to pro wrestling fans.

Savage vs. Steamboat is a technical wrestling masterpiece but I feel the overall story between Hogan vs. Andre set up an instant classic.

Andre the Giant found a permanent place in pop culture with his starring role in 1987’s The Princess Bride and Obey Giant AKA Andre the Giant Has a Posse by Shepard Fairey.

Andre The Giant was the subject of a documentary by HBO Sports (which I still need to check out myself) that was released in 2018.

For Christmas, I bought my friend a graphic novel about Andre the Giant’s life entitled Andre the Giant Closer to Heaven
