The Weekly Music Discussion Thread is Uncensored

Let’s discuss any and all music here. You’ve got a new artist who’s rocking your boat that you want to talk about? Post a video! Found out about that unearthed Coltrane album that has the jazz freak in you losing your mind? Lay it out for us! Do you have a theory about what your favorite band might do for their next album? Let’s hear it! Anything and everything music-related goes here.

This week’s prompt: What are your favorite uses of naughty words? Did it ever shock you? Does it still? I can remember my first time hearing a curse on the radio. It was Hall & Oates’ Rich Girl. They dropped the B-word which was downright scandalous to a 6 year old Moon!’s ears. And I would like to thank the PMRC for creating the label in the header image so teenaged Moon! could know what albums were worth buying.

The well, it’s new to me department:

25 years ago today, the band Rodan released their only LP, Rusty. In honor of this, they have just released early recordings of songs from the album with their original drummer, and they sound great. All proceeds will support Girls Rock Louisville which aims to empowers girls, trans (regardless of identity) and gender non-conforming youth from all backgrounds by exploring music creation in a supportive, inclusive environment. GRL views music as a force for change and community building and as an opportunity to develop self-confidence, self-expression, and involvement in social justice. Highly recommended.

Tells us about your favorite naughty parts and blasphemous tracks. Or just gush about what yr grooving to. And as always, rock out with yr guac out.
