Hey, kitty girls! Welcome to another episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 11!
Last week, the queens split into two groups and tested their performance skills in self-written evangelical sketches praising a chosen pop diva. The Church of Britney Spears, led by Nina West, aced the challenge, garnering Nina her first win in the competition. The Church of Mariah Carey led by Ra’jah O’Hara, on the other hand, completely misunderstood the assignment, and all six queens in her team were up for elimination.
None of the team members assigned blame to a particular member of the group, instead sharing responsibility for the sketch’s failure, so Ru decided, for the first time in the show’s herstory, to have six queens lipsync for their lives. The result, a lipsync to the Hex Hector remix of “Waiting for Tonight” by Jennifer Lopez, was a memorable, if chaotic, performance.
At the end of it all, Honey Davenport was sent home. Despite her reputation as an established performer in New York City, Honey never quite found her footing in the competition; her emotional breakdown in Untucked after being eliminated was heartbreaking to watch. See her exit interview with Michelle Visage below:
This week, the queens star in a musical about the current President of the United States. Hopefully some of these queens impress guest judges Tiffany “New York” Pollard (FINALLY!!!) and Joel McHale (yay!).
As per usual, this thread is for discussing the episode both as it airs and afterwards, so exercise judgment when it comes to using spoiler tags. Especially spoilery details are advised to be placed in spoiler tags.
In the words of Tatianna, thank yew, and enjoy tonight’s episode!
