Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Mar. 18 – Here are today’s contestants:
– Brian, an assistant IT manager from Massachusetts, did an infomercial for Dollar Bill’s Discount World;
– Lauren, a director of analytics from Colorado, proposed to Grant Hill during a free throw; and
– Lindsey, a physician from Pennsylvania, likes to visit old buildings with bullet holes. Lindsey is a two-day champ with winnings of $55,201.
Lindsey again assumed complete command in DJ, but chose to protect her lead on DD3 rather than nail down the win, keeping Brian alive in FJ with $12,200 vs. $21,000 for Lindsey, while Lauren was out of the running at -$200.
DD1, $800 – FIVE GUYS – On his passing in 2018, the cast of “The Big Bang Theory” tweeted, “Thank you for inspiring us and the world” (Brian won $1,400 on a true DD.)
DD2, $800 – COUNTRY SHORTCUTS – Israel and Saudi Arabia (Lindsey won $3,000)
DD3, $1,200 – CLASSICAL MUSIC PRODIGIES – His father, Hiao-Tsiun, gave him a “cello” when he was 4 by putting an endpin on a viola (Lindsey won $2,000)
FJ – BEST PICTURE OSCAR WINNERS – These 2 films, recent back-to-back winners, both have 9-letter titles that end with the same 5 letters
We’ve said time and time again that it pays to know your Oscar winners and nominees, and it did for Lindsey as the only player correct on FJ. She added $3,401 to win with $24,401 for a three-day total of $79,602.
Triple Stumpers of the day: No one guessed the 90-year-old swimsuit brand a clue wanted was Speedo, or knew the 15-letter word for the propensity for asking a lot of questions is inquisitiveness.
DD1 – Who was Hawking?
DD2 – What is Jordan?
DD3 – Who is Yo-Yo Ma?
FJ – What are “Spotlight” and “Moonlight”?
