Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Feb. 25

Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Feb. 25 – Here are your teams for the second match of Jeopardy! All-Stars:

– Julia (captain), Seth and Ben;
– Ken (captain), Matt and Monica; and
– Austin (captain), Roger and Leonard.

Taking the podium for the first round today were:

– Ben (Team Julia), who used his TOC winnings to buy a dartboard, kayaks, a house and nursing school tuition;
– Austin, who repressed his childhood and is still a humble bartender in New York City; and
– Ken, who never expected to get famous from Jeopardy! and wrote a book on the history of comedy.

Ken came out on fire to the extent that Alex asked his competitors if their signaling devices were working. Ken extended his lead with a double-up on the DD:

DD1, $1,000 – GREAT NICKNAMES – In his heyday this author was “The Great Unknown”, having published his “Waverly” novels anonymously (Ken won $4,000 on a true DD.)

Team Ken will carry $9,800 into DJ, followed by Team Julia at $5,600 and Team Austin at $2,800.

Fantasy update: At the end of the first match, the leaders are Alex and Larissa, tied at 24 points.

This day in Trebekistan: Alex seemed reluctant to accept Ken’s assertion that Trebek is the only one allowed to be funny on the show.

Correct Q:
DD1 – Who was Sir Walter Scott?
