Welcome to the Book Nook! This is the weekly thread for Avocados to discuss books we’re currently reading, recommendations, genre, and serious literary criticism.
This week’s recommended discussion: As a balm for anyone who didn’t want to partake in the recent hot takes discussion, which books or writers have your sword? Or to quote the originator, “Authors Toward Whom You’re Incredibly Protective and About Whom You Cannot Abide Hot Takes.” Quick note – if you don’t agree with someone about who or what they love, try to abstain from replying. I want to carve out this space so no one feels like they have to defend their favorites.

One caveat: because we’re here to use our words, this is a NO GIF/YouTube/social media embed zone (the OTs are full of clutter, and I want to keep that out of this thread).
2/6: short stories are better (h/t Robert Maitland, Architect)
2/13: book my valentine
