Sunday is the Super Bowl. the single most hyped sporting event known to man.  So naturally on Monday, everyone is talking about Anthony Davis’s request for a trade.  Yes, it’s true that not much happens in “hype week” but it’s still very telling that the off-the-field goings on of the NBA can take over from the supposedly most popular sport in America.  And also something of a warning to MLB, which is now two months into a rather dull off-season.  There is a very good chance Davis changes teams before Harper and Machado are signed.  And while the world ignores MLB, its owners are working overtime to justify being cheap.  Something is out of whack here.
