Another weekend is moving behind us and the first round of numbers are out from the box office showing how things are going at the movies. With a couple of new films out there, Glass held onto the top spot with a 53% drop to come in at just over $19 million, bringing it to a $73.5 million take so far domestically. It’s also done $89 million overseas to date to give it a worldwide take of $162.7 million on a $20 million budget.

The Upside is doing very solid in its latest weekend as it dropped just 18% in its second week where it brought in $12.2 million to bring it to $63 million since opening. It’s working with a bit bigger of a budget at $37 million but it’s definitely doing well.

The other holdover that’s doing well is Aquaman as it added another $7.3 million domestically to land at $316 million. With its worldwide take now at $1.09 billion, it’s topping the list of DC films at the box office and is the third biggest film for Warner Bros worldwide.

In terms of new films, The Kid Who Would Be King got a lot of positive reviews and interest from critics but it landed with $7.25 million on its supposed $59 million budget. It scored well with a “B+” CinemaScore and saw a good near 50/50 split in gender, and half of it over twenty-five.

Aviron’s Serenity film debuted in eighth place with a $4.8 million take but garnered a “D+” CinemaScore.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly was still in 1,200 theaters for various types of screenings and added another $3 million to its take, bringing it to just under $28 million.
