Editor’s Note: Feel free to post as big or as small of a list as you would like below but please keep your lists contained to these posts and do not open up your own or fill up the OT with them. The winners will be announced alongside the other winners of The Pits on 12/21 and will be calculated by adding up your lists (10 points for first, 9 for second, etc., with 5 points per title awarded for unranked lists). Voting will be cut off some time on 12/21 so make sure to cast your ballot before then. If you wish to change your ballot later feel free to, but please indicate clearly that you are recasting your vote to make things easier to count.
If you read any books published this year, post the list of your favorites. Be sure to rank them. Any number of books is fine, but between 1 – 10 is standard. The winner will be announced after voting closes on 12/21, and receive the prestigious Asimov Award for Best Book. All books published this year are eligible – fiction and non-fiction of any genre or subject. If you’re looking for a list of books published in 2018, Goodreads has a decent one. Esquire, Amazon, the NY Times, and Slate also have useful best-of lists.
If you want to talk about the best books you read this year, regardless of when they were published, join us in the Book Nook on 12/19.
