Jeopardy! recap for Tue., Nov. 6

Jeopardy! recap for Tue., Nov. 6 – Here are today’s contestants:

– Chloe, a communications associate from British Columbia, shares a love of crossword puzzles with her dad;
– Lonnie, a creative director from Colorado, designed winning homecoming floats; and
– Mary Ann, a marketing coordinator from California, is a fan of Sailor Moon and is doing her family proud. Mary Ann is a one-day champ with winnings of $38,200.

Mary Ann simply steamrolled the competition in DJ, scoring on both DDs on her way to a most convincing runaway with $25,200 vs. $4,000 for Lonnie. For the second straight game, a player failed to make it to FJ as Chloe ended in the red at -$600.

DD1 – WHAT DO YOUR SHOES MEAN? – Queen Victoria’s Scottish castle is the source of the name of this laced shoe (Mary Ann lost $2,000)

DD2 – WOMEN’S FIRSTS – Some first female mayors are Joan Wagnon (Topeka), Lila Cockrell (San Antonio) & this current U.S. Senator (San Francisco) (Mary Ann won $3,000)

DD3 – ON BROADWAY IN 2018 – broadway .com said it best about this show: “Tina Fey’s fetch movie is, like, now on Broadway” (Mary Ann won $4,000)

FJ – ALPHANUMERIC ANATOMY – Alphanumerically, it’s at the top of the spine and lets you nod

Both players missed FJ, as Mary Ann had the technically correct information but it didn’t fit the category. That costly mistake dropped her score by $10,000 as she won with $15,200 for a two-day total of $53,400.

Triple Stumper of the day: Alex seemed a bit taken aback that the players couldn’t add “explorer” and “1493” from the clue to come up Columbus.

No harm no foul: Everyone took incorrect guesses on the country where journalist Terry Anderson was held hostage (Lebanon) and on Syria’s biggest neighbor (Turkey).

Correct Qs:
DD1 – What is Balmoral?
DD2 – Who is Feinstein?
DD3 – What is “Mean Girls”?
FJ – What is C-1? (Mary Ann said “First vertebra”).
