Jeopardy! recap for Fri., Nov. 2 – Today’s contestants are:
– Jonathan, a human rights legal author from Prince Edward Island, is a semi-professional (at best) curler;
– Laura, an arts administrator from California, whose son likes watching cars; and
– Emily, a professor from Pennsylvania, didn’t take a year to have her baby. Emily is a three-day champ with winnings of $62,503.
As Alex promised, Jonathan rallied after a slow start, taking the lead on DD3 which he was able to hold thanks to a pair of late misses by Emily. The scores going into FJ were Jonathan with $14,200, Emily at $13,600 and Laura with $3,400.
DD1 – IN THE ROOM – This musical includes the song “The Room Where It Happens” (Jonathan lost $1,200)
DD2 (video) – NATIONAL PORTRAIT GALLERY – Before it was a Sam Peckinpah film title, it was a real Western gang including Butch & Sundance (Laura lost $2,000)
DD3 – UNITS OF MEASURE – Named for an Englishman, it’s the basic unit of force in the International System (Jonathan won $3,000)
FJ – SURNAMES – Evoking speed & luxury, this one of the 10 most common Italian surnames goes back to the Latin word for iron
For some reason Alex decided to eliminate all suspense by essentially telling us before the reveal that everyone was correct on FJ. Jonathan added $13,001 to win with $27,201.
Triple Stumper of the day: No one knew the French word for a woman’s dressing room is a boudoir.
This day in Trebekistan: Alex broke the news that some of us dread to hear: the Teen Tournament begins this Wednesday.
