Welcome to the Book Nook! This is the weekly thread for Avocados to discuss books we’re currently reading, recommendations, genre, and serious literary criticism.
This week’s recommended discussion: reading habits. What influences how or when you read? Do you stop everything for a new book, power through a series, only read on your commute? Does how you read affect how you process what you read? I’ve been putting my library card through its paces since I got it, and my hold list has totally dictated my reading for the past couple of months. I’ve been reading everything, as it comes in, before it’s due. For a lifelong book squirrel who collects anything that looks interesting and saves them for later, this is completely foreign to me – but it’s a heck of a lot of fun to challenge myself.
One caveat: because we’re here to use our words, this is a NO GIF/YouTube/social media embed zone (the OTs are full of clutter, and I want to keep that out of this thread).
