Welcome, welcome! I am so delighted to have you all visiting us in St. Mary Mead. I assume you have all been invited the same way I was – a lovely telegram from Mr. Ulyssess Norbert Owen. I have to say, I’m afraid I don’t know the man. I have spent much of my life in this quaint little village. I can hardly say why Mister Owen would wish to invite me to his country manor, in my own home village.

That is… I could hardly say. But I’m afraid, my dears, that this very much reminds me of poor little Johnny Trevers. Oh, you never heard the story? Well, I’m afraid poor Johnny always liked a little bit of shenanigans. Nothing too mean or cruel – just a knock on the door, to have no one appear at the front stoop, that sort of thing. Now, poor Johnny – a prank was hardly worth it, if he didn’t have the opportunity to see the bafflement on his victim’s faces. So he would always stay close by, to see what happened. Of course, he really should have hidden somewhere other than the ditch by the side of the road that fateful autumn day. But who could know that the car would turn over and crush him, right there?

Oh, yes, yes, dear me. My apologies. I have wandered off a bit. But, dears, this Mister Owen really does remind me of poor Johnny Trevers. Watching his own prank from not too far. After all, Mister U.N. Owen is just Unknown, isn’t it?

Oh, and while I’m at it, it does appear that we have all received new letters. If you’ll just pick them up… yes, yes, quite frightening, I agree. To announce in advance that there are four murderers who plan to murder the guests one by one? Quite scandalous! I must say – I am just a tad grateful that Unknown has chosen to let me know that I will be spared. Although I can’t imagine why. Still. I will do my best to help all of you find the murderers and survive this weekend.

This is Werewolf 67: A Murder is Announced

Welcome, everyone! This is, in case you can’t tell, an Agatha Christie themed werewolf game. While much of the initial flavor text is based upon And Then There Were None, this game will involve the whole Agatha Christie oeuvre and is a general Agatha Christie theme.

I would rate the difficulty of this game as medium. I hope that we will have a whole lot of fun with this, since Agatha Christie is my first literary love! Pick some characters, drop some spoilers, and let’s find some murderers before you’re all killed by daggers to the heart and obscure South American poisons!

Factions:

4 Murderers (Wolves)

16 Genteel Detectives (Town)

All of the Murderers will have roles that come with powers. Those roles are named, and the names are a clue as to the role and power assigned to each Murderer. When a Murderer is killed, I will reveal which role and power he or she was assigned to. I will not reveal the nature of that role/power.

General Rules:

The game is divided into Day and Night phases. During the Day, all players will meet in an open thread that I will post. By the end of the Day (called Twilight), decide on a player to vote for, if any. A player who receives a majority vote (or who has the most votes by Twilight) will be lynched.

During the Night, all players with powers will submit their night actions, if any, in their personal QTs. At the same time, the Murderers will meet in their own group QT to decide on a target for their Night kill.

Town’s goal is to eliminate all the Wolves. The Wolves’ goal is to eliminate Town, or reduce their numbers to the point where it becomes impossible for Town to eliminate the Wolves.

Please make at least five game-related comments per Day. Non-participation may get you lynched, or worse, replaced.

Only vote in the Vote Thread. No game-related chat after Twilight. And most importantly, NO EDITING POSTS FOR ANY REASON. In this game especially, it is verboten to change a post, even if you’ve made a spelling, grammar, or coding error. If you are caught editing a post, you will be mod-killed.
