Hello and welcome! I’m so excited to be your tour guide tonight. Congratulations on winning that contest—you’re in for a special treat. This tour of the Hollywood Studio is going to be different from what we let the general public see. You’re going to have the highest level of access to the tools and techniques we use to make the biggest movies. You’ll get to see the same equipment the directors used on some of the most important and exciting films in history. But enough talking. Let’s get started!
This first room is a classic. Tell me, did you see Captain America: Civil War? You remember the airport battle scene? We shot it all right here!
And over here, you might recognize the location of the dramatic showdown between the Tyrannosaurus and the Indominus Rex from the hit sequel Jurassic World. That whole scene was shot right where you’re standing!
Not to mention The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Deadpool 2, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Wonder Woman, Pirates of the Caribbean, Prometheus, Logan, Black Panther, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Skyfall, Cloud Atlas, Inception, Night at the Museum, Gravity, The Hobbit, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Lincoln, Transformers: The Last Knight, and War for the Planet of the Apes. Check them all out!
OK look, I get it. Seeing a set by itself isn’t as exciting as you thought it’d be. But we have costumes, too. For instance, do you recognize Maz Kanata from Star Wars: The Force Awakens? How about Beast from Beauty and the Beast? And all four of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? They’re right there!
All right, that was all great, right? But let’s be honest—these days, there’s a little more to making movies than getting actors in front of a camera. We use technology to do things we never could before. That’s what I’m going to show you next.
This room is where we add the secret sauce that only computers can provide. Remember how bad special effects looked back in the 1980s? We’re never going back to those bad old days. Take a gander at how we do things today.
Impressed? That’s movie magic! I tell you, people can’t get enough. Now, over here—wait, where are you going? That’s the exit, don’t …
I’m going to be fired.
