France and Denmark played the most boring game yet, Perú recovered some of their honor, Iceland fought till the end while Argentina survived (even if Diego didn’t)
Day 14, in group E only Costa Rica is out while in group F is anyone’s game (yes, even Korea)
Group E: Switzerland v Costa Rica
The Swiss Messi did it and now they’re in a great spot to not only qualify (problematic celebrations notwithstanding) but win the group depending on GD. Costa Rica has looked really slow on attack but Navas has saved them from bigger disasters. We’ll see if the Swiss can break him
Group E: Brazil v Serbia
The jogo bonito has been mostly concentrated on Coutinho, of course in the last game the ticos just went for the fouls, so you can’t really blame them that much. Serbia let the draw slip and now must win, an offensive Serbia will be perfect for Brazil
Group F: México v Sweden
Given how bonkers this group is, even with 6 points México could go home depending on GD, goals scored and hell even yellow cards. They need the draw to ensure their qualification and win the group. Sweden needs the win or draw and pray for a Korean victory. Both teams have been good on counters, how will this work when they both need to attack?
Group F: South Korea v Germany
Son Heung-min has been the brightest spot in this group, and he has the additional motivation of winning or going for military service. In front is Germany though and, as Sweden just saw firsthand, Germany always wins.
