Jeopardy! recap for Fri., Jun. 1- Today’s contestants are:
– Dan, a wine and spirits distributor from Los Angeles, CA, who fittingly invented a Jeopardy! drinking game;
– Ian, a trade specialist from Washington, DC, who got tear-gassed in Peru but still got his Chinese food; and
– Jeffrey, a private investor from New York, NY, who apparently looks like Will Ferrell. Jeffrey is a three-day champ with winnings of $62.300.
Ian started a bit slowly, trailing after round one, but was clearly the best performer in DJ and held first place into FJ with $14,600 vs. $11,600 for Jeffrey and $9,000 for Dan.
DD1 – CELEBRATIONS OF THE MONTH – National Magic Day, on the anniversary of Harry Houdini’s death (Dan won $2,000)
DD2 – HISTORIC “P”LACES – This city was founded in 1855 by a Boer leader who became the first president of the South African Republic (Ian won $2,600)
DD3 – DAY & NIGHT BOOKSTORE – A butler recalls the successes and failures of his own life in this Kazuo Ishiguro novel (Ian lost $2,000)
FJ – PRESIDENTS: BORN & DIED – Born the farthest West in the continental U.S. of any president, he would later die farthest from his birthplace
Ian and Dan were correct on FJ, with Ian adding $8,601 to win with $23,201. Note that Dan made too large of a wager from third place and by doing so, gave up his chance at a potential Triple Stumper win.
That’s before our time: No one knew the “It” girl of the 1920s was Clara Bow.
