Bob’s Burgers Season 8 Episode 18
As I Walk Through the Alley of the Shadow of Ramps
I always thought that the alley behind Bob’s Burgers was an interesting, underexplored venue and here it gets center stage as a site for the kids playing trash Quidditch, feuding with a food tuck, and ridding Louise of her fear of bicycles.
Regular Sized Rudy getting deployed as a weapon of pity by Louise against some cops, yet simultaneously reverting to his ‘heroic’ self of ‘The Hurt Soccer’ for his episode character bit (by virtue of making some easy ramp jumps) was great. Tina secretly being the best trainer in the house (by virtue of Bob taking credit for Linda’s job of training Gene to ride a bike that she wasn’t *actually* there for that Tina actually did showed the great depth of family dynamic the show’s known for.
Linda indirectly getting Gale to kidnap someone was very amusing in concept but a little agonizing to watch although it deployed the sister well. Largely ‘agonizing’ because it was frustrating to watch Linda have such a bad plan for her sister’s mania.
The end credits with Tina learning to ride a bike and her and Bob singing Bat out of Hell or whatnot was especially fabulous.
