Sports Corner – May 2

The NBA’s longest running playoff rivalry has been renewed with the 20th meeting of the Celtics and Sixers.  Their first playoff meeting was in 1953, before the Syracuse Nationals moved to Philly and became the 76ers.  Since then, there have been some epic battles, including a few series that matched up Dr. J and Larry Bird.  So far, the Celts have a 1-0 lead, but there is a lot of ball to be played, and a lot of trash talk to come.

Other sports news of the week:

  • The rest of the NBA playoffs and the NHL playoffs continue.
  • Dodgers in free fall with the season ending injury to Corey Seager and the brief benching of Cody Bellinger.
  • The NFL Draft is over.  Did your team get better?
  • Champions League play goes on.  Can Liverpool make England proud?

As ever, all sports subjects welcome.
